left over to freeze! Who needs frozen food snacks when you can easily make your
own and freeze individual portions? How much healthier this variety is and not
full of processed foods and preservatives.
The best part of this recipe is that you can use what you have
on hand or found on special, including all those spaghetti sauce cans that may
be piling up! Remember, I found that fresh mozzarella cheese I found on special for 99
cents a pound. It works fantastic in this recipe! I've purchased several of these
delectable beauties to use in all my favorite Italian recipes. You need to ensure you
visit your local discount food store to stock up on these savings.
Make the Dough:
1 pkg. yeast
2 cups spring water
2 tsp. salt
4 cups of flour
2 tab. of olive oil
Place all in bread machine and set machine for "dough". Check to see if more flour is needed to make the dough a sticky consistency, but not dry.
Gather Your Fillings:
1 lb. of mixed meats (sausage, ham, pepperoni - whatever you have on hand)
1 lb. mozzarella cheese - shredded
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1 cup Frozen Seasoning Blend
2 tab. Oregano
1 canned spaghetti sauce (26.5 oz.)
When dough is through, take out of bread machine and split into 4 equal portions. You can also make this dough by hand in a bowl and let it rise for an hour before proceeding. Roll out each dough portion onto a lightly floured surface making a 12 inch circle.
Spread 1/2 cup of spaghetti sauce on 1/2 of the surface. Place 1/4 pd. of the different meats and 1/4 pd of the shredded cheese on top of sauce. Top with 2 tab. of parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup frozen seasoning blend, and 1 tsp. of oregano. Close circle into half moon by moistening 1/2 of the edges on the dough. Press firmly to seal. Bake in oven at 425 for 18 min. Delicious!
