I was staring up at an old box of Rice Krispies, spring stuck in my head, when I was prompted to make The Original Treats Recipe.  How long it's been since I've made this for the boys! Oh, how they enjoyed these chewy bars when they were little.  Since Easter's on the horizon, I thought I'd dip into your memory lane so that you can get into the festive spirit.  If you don't have a box of Rice Krispies, I've included the coupon link above.  If you sign up, you'll get all kinds of special savings and coupons right in your email box.  With living on an extreme budget, you need to be coupon clipping.  Get the Sunday paper, sign up for email coupons, and get started on savings.  Coupon clipping is well worth the effort.  I've been doing it for over 30 years now.

3 tablespoonsbutter or margarine1 package (10 oz., about 40) regular marshmallows

  •  - OR -

    2. Add KELLOGG'S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir until well coated.

    3. Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray.
Cool. Cut into 2-inch squares. Best if served the same day.

    MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:

Stir until smooth. Follow steps 2 and 3 above. Microwave cooking times may vary.
