1 1/2 cups shortening
1 1/2 cups dark brown sugar
1/2 cup molasses
2 eggs
4 tsp. baking soda
4 cups flour
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
Combine shortening and brown sugar. Beat high until light and fluffy. Add the rest of the ingredients and beat on low for 2 minutes. Chill in your refrigerator for 30 minutes to an hour. Take out, and roll into 1" balls and dip all sides with remaining sugar. Press slightly to form small cookie. Bake at 375 for 8 - 10 minutes.
