I was perusing the Dollar Tree the other day, and noticed they had everything available for a Dump Cake. If you've ever heard of this, now's the time to give it a try. This recipe is a kid favorite. There is something about the ease of this recipe that makes it all the more satisfying. If you have little ones, they will enjoy putting this together as all they have to do is dump it into a pan. You can serve this with ice cream or whipped topping. Actually, it is best straight out of the oven, still warm.
1 box yellow cake mix
1 (16 oz.) can crushed pineapple
undrained
8 oz. chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
1/2 cup butter or
margarine
1 (20 oz. can cherry pie filling
In a 13 x 9 inch pan mix
cherries and pineapple a bit. Sprinkle cake mix over filling and stir a few
times. You don't want to mix it all in completely. Sprinkle nuts, if desired, on
top. Drizzle with butter or margarine. Bake at 350 for 35 - for
minutes.
