1 package of yeast
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 cup water
1 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. mace or cinnamon
3 cups flour
1 egg
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
3 tab. melted butter
Dipping Mixture:
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
Add yeast and sugar to water. Let proof. Add dry ingredients to bowl. Make a well in the center and add wet ingredients. Stir until well mixed. Begin to knead your dough. Place back in a well oiled bowl and place saran wrap on top. Let dough rise until double in bulk 1 -2 hours. Have a bread pan ready and greased. In a small bowl melt butter or marjarine. In another small bowl mix sugar and cinnamon. With your dough, pull off golf ball size portions and roll into balls. Dip in butter and roll completely in cinnamon and sugar. Place each dough ball into bread pan. Complete process until all dough is exhausted. Allow to rise again till almost double, about 1 hour. Cover with clean dish towel. You may sprinkle a bit more cinnamon and sugar on the top prior to baking. Bake at 350 for approximately 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted registers clean.
